Grade 5 Report
Welcome to Term 3! New adventures, new goals and so much to look forward to in Grade 5 as another busy and action packed 10 weeks takes off.
Everyone has already jumped straight into our major unit on “Space” (Beam Us Up Scotty!) where we anticipate learning not only more about our Solar System, but also other fascinating celestial features such as constellations, nebulae, comets, stars and the ever-intriguing Black Holes.
Continuing this theme, our shared literature is the first book in Stuart Gibbs very popular Moon Base Alpha series: “Space Case” which promises a fast-faced whodunit with a likeable main character we can all identify with and cheer on, as he faces multiple mysteries and dangers.
Next comes our first excursion for the term to Science Works and the Planetarium, quickly followed by something completely different with a visit to the Clocktower for a musical performance by Bacchus Marsh Secondary College.
Along the way our debating teams will be preparing for their big event at Preston West Primary on the 4th September and our delegates to the Yarning Conference in Term 4 will be busy learning more about indigenous culture in preparation for their big event.
A great term ahead!
