Grade 1 Report

Grade 1 have had a magnificent start to Term 3 and it was wonderful to read all about their Winter breaks and the adventures they had in their holiday recounts.

Last week, we read Welcome to Country, a book written by respected elder Aunty Joy Murphy who welcomes us to Country with a Wurundjeri Wominjeka (welcome) and beautifully explains the concept of welcoming ceremonies and their significance to First Nation communities across Australia.

We discussed the importance of recognising the land we are on and the activities that we love to do on country. The students gave insightful responses to showing respect to the land we are on and only taking from it what we can give back.
