Mixed Netball Competition
On Tuesday the 23rd of July, the A Mixed Netball team went to Ngarrindjeri Stadium to represent Preston Primary School in a District round robin Netball Competition. We were all nervous and thrilled to play against our competitors as we knew it would be a hard, but fun day.
The first team we played was Thornbury Primary School, it was a thrilling game and a great way to start the day, with Preston Primary taking victory 24 - 4.
The next team we were up against was by far the most challenging team yet, Fairfield Primary School. The first 6 minutes were tense, with goals scored equally at each end. It wasn’t long before Preston Primary settled into the game and worked out an effective strategy to take the lead with the end result being 11 to 25.
Our final game of the day was against St Raphael’s Primary School. By this game we had really settled into our game plan and managed to win 32 - 1, what an amazing way to finish off the day!
The scores may not represent it, but we were challenged differently in each game which made it a good competition. It was great to see us come together as a team for a common goal.
At the end of the day, we successfully made it into the Regionals Competition which will occur on Tuesday 20th August. We would like to say a big thank you to Matteo for filling in and playing with us and of course we can’t thank Miss Bennie enough for getting us this far.
