School Council Report

School Council Report

School Council met on Monday 5 August and despite the chilly weather, it was a warm and productive meeting.

Paul gave us a six-month update on the Annual Implementation Plan. This gave insight into the great work staff have been doing around Maths and Literacy. Michele was able to talk about the positive impact this has had in the classroom – and the positive shift in many students' attitude to Maths.

Nicole took us through the SWPBS (School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support) implementation and explained what is involved in the implementation of Disability Inclusion. The work being done by all staff in regards to student wellbeing was highlighted, and particular acknowledgement was given to Nicole's effort in leading the wellbeing team through the changes to Disability Inclusion.

The Social Club report gave updates on Trivia Night, ART FOR ALL and council approved the Father's/Special Person's Day Morning Tea. It is certainly going to be a social term! The Year 5 camp to Anglesea was also approved by council.

The Policy Committee reviewed and council approved the school’s Community Events Policy.

Paul reported the great news that the VSBA has approved the proposed courtyard redevelopment, getting us one step closer to tendering the project.

School Council will next meet on 16th September.
