Peaceful Kids/Classrooms

Recently Peaceful Kids facilitators across 225 schools in Australia took part in an evaluation survey on the effectiveness of the Peaceful Kids program.  The results were outstanding.

In summary the results of the survey indicate that:

• 100% of schools have found the program beneficial.

• 99.1% noticed a decrease in anxiety behaviours such as children appearing or demonstrating clingy, perfectionism, seeking reassurance, avoiding situations, restlessness, crying, emotional outbursts, self-conscious or not taking risks.

• 98% noticed a decrease in the presentation of physiological stress symptoms such as children presenting with headaches, tummy aches, breathing difficulties, dizzy or tired.

• 97% noticed an increase in the resilience of the students, being able to manage difficulties and using coping strategies to manage difficulties.

• 96% noticed an increase in children managing difficult and or uncomfortable emotions and feelings more effectively.

• 97% noticed an increase in children appearing calmer and relaxed.

Story Dogs

Story Dogs is a fun and unique reading support program that improves children’s reading and communication skills by children reading to an accredited companion dog and its handler. The Story Dog program is primarily designed for students who have reading challenges. Your child may be selected to participate in the program by their classroom teacher in consultation with the Wellbeing Team. We are excited to begin the program later this month to further support the wellbeing of our students.
