BOGONG SKI CAMP

Bogong Camp

Day 1

After a long drive we arrived safely at The Bogong School at the bottom of amazing Falls Creek. After a tour with their instructors and setting personal goals for the trip. Students were fitted for their cross county skiing gear and snow gear. The weather forecast tomorrow is for bright blue sky’s and soft snow.

Day 2

Bogong Ski Camp: Cross Country Skiing.

Falls Creek has turned on the weather for our students.

Sunny clear skies for smooth conditions for Cross Country Skiing. Tomorrow will be Day 1 of our downhill skiing journey.

Day 3

Bogong Ski Camp: Downhill Skiing.

DOWNHILL SKIING FOR DAYS! WOW! That was all we can say about the postcard conditions on the mountain today. Students have been snowploughing, carving, and smiling all day 😀 on the slopes of Falls Creek. With conditions looking even better tomorrow, we will be venturing out to explore more of the resort with our leaders and teachers.

As well as skiing, students learnt about the Australian Alpine region, its First Nations People, Flora and Fauna and how climate change is altering the face of the alps.

Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow.

Day 4

Bogong Ski Camp: Skiing, Skiing and more Skiing.

Another day in a Skiers Paradise. Blue skies, smooth runs and awesome attitudes. Today saw students progressing to steeper terrain and for some select students, a few free runs.

Thank you to the Staff at Bogong School for their professional and personable instruction.

Day 5

We left Bogong just at 10.15am, boarded our own bus at Mt Beauty and tired skiers said goodbye to new friends from Camperdown College. A big stop in Yea refilled bellies and allowed sore legs to stretch out. Now on the home stretch to Korumburra, there are happy campers sad to leave the alpine environment and looking forward to sharing their stories with families and friends. Mr Ellison has had his fourth coffee for the day and we are incredibly grateful for his chauffeur skills!
