Time to say goodbye
Our four international students here on a study trip from China, complete their stay this week. It’s been wonderful having them as part of our school community.
Apart from them participating in our normal programs, they have visited Werribee Zoo with the Year 4s, joined in the reptile show with our EAL students and today had a special lunch with the Principal.
We wish them a safe trip home.
Staff professional learning
On Monday our staff worked closely with Dr. Ange Rogers from RMIT, who educated them on the most effective ways to teach place value.
It is nearly ready
Across Tuesday and Wednesday this week, Mr. Surkitt and Mr. Peiper have frantically been building the retaining wall for our mulch, that was delivered today. Once completed, our new playground on the sportsground will be available for student enjoyment.
Congratulations
Both our boys and girls school soccer teams had regional finals this week. Congratulations to the boys team and their coach Mr. Scanu, who completed a 2-0 victory in the grand final against St. Raphaels, to make it through to the Stage Championships.
Our girls team are participating in their final on Thursday, and at the time of publication, we haven’t heard the result.
Book Week
Monday 19th August is the beginning of Book Week at Plenty Parklands. Students will undertake several activities during library sessions or in their own classrooms. Please note that as 2024 is an even year, there will be no whole school dress up day. We will however have a special guest mascot for the week, who will attend our assembly and be seen around the school.
2025 Prep Showbags
Our office staff have put together an exciting showbag for 2025 Prep enrolled students. This collection of goodies is available to any families that have enrolled a child in Prep. Please see the office ladies for pickup.
How Good Is This
The talent show is in full swing thanks to Mr. Stubberfield, Ms. Thomas and our JSC students. Big crowds, visiting parents and lots of talent.
