SENIOR SCHOOL REPORT
As we reach the midpoint of Term 3, it’s an excellent time to reflect on the whirlwind of activities and events that have taken place within Years 10, 11 and 12.
The subject selection process for 2025 has been a significant focus this term. Students attended information evenings, completed their workbooks, and submitted their preferences after thorough consideration. The 1:1 course counselling interviews provided invaluable guidance, ensuring that each student’s choices align with their academic goals and interests. I am grateful for the support that parents have given throughout this process.
The highlight of this last week was undoubtedly the House Athletics Competition. This annual event saw incredible participation from students across all year levels. The day was filled with competitive athletic events, where students showcased their speed, strength, and teamwork. Adding a splash of creativity and fun, many students embraced the fancy dress theme, donning imaginative costumes that ranged from superheroes to historical figures. It was great to see the camaraderie and school spirit in full display. In addition to the traditional athletic events, students enjoyed various novelty events and musical performances that kept the energy high throughout the day.
I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the musical "Freaky Friday." The quality of the performances was a testament to the dedication and effort that went into perfecting the show. I would also like to acknowledge the support our senior students showed to the younger students involved in the musical. Their willingness to help junior students navigate their roles and the demands of the production was heart warming.
Mid-year has also marked our much-anticipated Music Concert. The event was a resounding success, featuring an array of talented students performing everything from traditional pieces to contemporary hits. Thanks to the many families and friends who supported this event.
The Year 12 Vocational Major students are spearheading several fundraising initiatives. Their projects have ranged from morning teas, casual clothes days and sausage sizzles; all aimed at supporting charities and school programs. Their dedication and hard work has not gone unnoticed, and they’ve raised an impressive amount of funds, demonstrating the power of community and the importance of giving back.
As we look forward to the remainder of Term 3, we wish our Year 12 students the best of luck as they come to the end of their Unit 4 studies. In the coming holiday period, our scored VCE students will undertake practice exams before a final period of revision in Term 4. Similarly, we look forward to the upcoming Presentation Evening for students completing the Vocational Major.
