International Student Excursion to Chesterfield Farm

On Tuesday 6th August, the Year 7 – 10 International Students were able to get a glimpse into rural life in Australia with a visit to Chesterfield Farm in Scoresby.

The day began with a guided tractor tour around the 100-acre farm, providing a broader view of the landscape and an explanation about the daily operations of the farm and its resident animals (including some native Australian animals much to everyone’s excitement). The visit also included a sheep-dog demonstration, offering insight into one of Australia’s oldest agricultural traditions.

During our visit, students were able to interact with rabbits, lambs, and calves in the animal nursery, and, pleasingly, all students took up the opportunity to hand-feed a variety of animals around the farm and milk a cow, which was a highlight for many!

Staff were so proud of everyone’s enthusiasm and willingness to try new things!
