Dear Kingswood Community,
Here are some samples of students artworks from Prep and Year 1.
Prep
Year 1
The Preps were learning the pre-sewing skill of weaving using paper strips in an 'over and under' technique. We then observed some animals, looking for the simple shapes that they are made up of as a beginning of the drawing process. Breaking down something complex to draw into basic shapes helps the artist to achieve success. At the same time we were practising our Japanese language of animals.
Uma = horse, tori = bird, sakana = fish, neko = cat, inu = dog, usagi = rabbit
Year 1 students were learning the skill of threading a needle and sewing a running stitch and a continuous running stitch. We learnt about the cool and warm colours and developed our Japanese language of sea creatures.
Kurage = jellyfish, kame = turtle, same= shark, iruka = dolphin, sakana = fish, kujira = whale, ebi = prawn/shrimp, kani = crab
