Principal's Report

Welcome to Term 4

It’s hard to believe we are now entering the final term of the 2024 school year, but here we are, ready for what promises to be a busy but exciting Term 4! Whether it’s the proud reflection on 12 months of learning growth, the culmination of projects, strengthening friendships and developing independence, achieving new personal bests in the classroom and the playground, Term 4 is always a special time for reflection and celebration.

As always, our dedicated staff have returned energised and enthusiastic to do what they do best, ready to support every student in their learning journey. On the back of Teacher Appreciation Day which was recently held, I would like to acknowledge our teachers in particular and thank them for all they do to support our ACPS students. This term, as a staff we will be completing the final leg of the learning and wellbeing goals in our Annual Implementation Plan, while also looking ahead to 2025 and preparing for the continual enhancement of our academic, student engagement, wellbeing, and co-curricular programs. We will continue to focus on student wellbeing, ensuring that every child feels safe, supported, and ready to THRIVE. There are many community events to look forward to, including our Trivia Night, P-2 Grandparents Day, swimming program, Christmas Carols, Grade 6 Graduation, Presentation Assembly and class based Christmas activities.

Our students have settled straight back into school life this past fortnight and are shining both in the classroom and in the playground. Let’s make this final term one to remember, filled with joy, achievement, and community spirit. Thank you for your continued support of our wonderful school – together, we’ll make Term 4 the best yet!

Exciting News - Grant for New Bike shelter

I am thrilled to announce that our school has been successful in securing a generous grant of $29,914.50 from Community Bank Warrandyte for the construction of a brand new bike shelter at ACPS! This exciting project will provide a safe and secure space for students to store their bikes, encouraging even more of our students to ride to school and embrace healthy, active habits.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Community Bank Warrandyte for their continued support of our school. Their generosity continues to make a significant and long lasting impact on our students and broader school community, helping to bring about projects like this that benefit everyone.

The new bike shelter will be a fantastic addition to our school grounds, encouraging kids to ride to school for many years to come. I look forward to sharing details about the construction timeline in the coming weeks.

BAKE A WISH FUNDRAISER!!

ACPS has signed up to Bake A Wish, a Make-A-Wish fundraiser in which a piece of cake is literally donated to help make wishes come true for seriously ill children.

We would love you to come along and donate to Make-A-Wish in return for some tasty treats. They’ll taste even more delicious knowing that you’re helping make a difference to sick kids.

Every Monday, in November students will hold a Bake a Wish stall. Each week, the Bake a Wish treats will be supplied by a different level.

Assembly will finish around 3:20 and students will be able to purchase the baked goods.

Our goal is to raise at least $500.

On your assigned date could you kindly support your child to bake a school-friendly treat and drop it at the office before school.
