Alexandra Adventure Resort Year 5 Camp
On Monday, the Year 5 students went to camp at Alexandra Adventure Resort. When we arrived, the energy amongst everyone was ecstatic. We first took a tour around the camp, met some of the staff and had lunch. Afterwards, students went to their cabins to set up and got ready for their first activities. Students participated in activities such as canoeing, laser tag, giant swing, Gaga Ball, archery and flying fox.
Year 5 student comments about their time at Alexandra Adventure Camp:
"Camp was a blast! I really enjoyed rock climbing and the flying fox. There were some challenges throughout the trip but my group overcame them and ended up having fun." – Akira
"I enjoyed playing with my friends and eating the food. My favourite thing was canoeing, giant swing, flying fox, Gaga Ball, eating ice cream, celebrating at midnight, showering, laser sport, the movie, playing at the park on the way home and getting zero sleep." – Eliot
"Some people didn’t want to capsize, so Josh and I went on a canoe together and pretended to step off the canoe in the middle of the lake. We capsized and had to swim back to shore. I had fun playing Gaga Ball and Beach Volleyball. The flying fox gave me a tragic heart attack when I went upside down three times. I was able to have two serves of every food. I was so hungry." – Lucy
"I enjoyed the giant swing because you were dropped from very high up. My favourite thing was when Justin and Shaheer capsized while canoeing. I liked camp because we were able to stay up for a long time." – Jaylen
"I enjoyed sleeping in my cabin because it was very cozy, but also a little bit scary. My favourite activity was the giant swing and I enjoyed the food." – Linh
"I loved the giant swing because it was awesome. It felt like my intestines were loose and I couldn’t breathe for a few seconds. I also loved the food. No comment needed. Actually, the best part was staying up with my friends because they wouldn’t stop yapping." – George
"I enjoyed the flying fox because I was able to see the people in the canoes underneath me. My favourite activity was canoeing because Darren splashed me. My favourite memory was the giant swing because it was so high. I was crying." –Alyssa
"My favourite memory was playing Marco Polo in the dark while in my cabin." – Sophie
"My favourite part about camp was the giant swing, flying fox and canoeing. I liked canoeing because I was able to get my revenge on Darren for splashing Alyssa and I Iiked the giant swing because I was pulled to the top and yelled, “I’m a fairy,” when I was in the middle of falling. The flying fox was also very fun because I was able to be like Spider Man/Woman." – Angela
"My favourite memory was flipping out of my canoe with Kai. We were able to sabotage other people in their canoes, like Darren." – Jonas
"I enjoyed playing with my friends. My favourite activity was the giant swing and the flying fox. My favourite memory was the group photo at the end of camp." – Lynette
"I liked camp because it allowed us to become more independent. I mostly enjoyed the flying fox and watching the others fall into the freezing cold water (especially Ken) during canoeing. It was funny in the cabin because others shared their funny stories." – Tyler
"I enjoyed most of the activities because they were really fun. Some of the teachers did the activities with us too. My favourite activity would probably be the giant swing because it felt like your tummy was tingly when you were coming down. Also, if you were scared of heights, you could have faced your fears." – Jacqueline
"It was so much fun. I loved the activities, especially the giant swing and the flying fox." - Emilie
"The flying fox was thrilling and exciting, and in archery I struggled at the beginning but in the end I got close to a bullseye. All in all it was lots of fun." - Sathvik
Thank you to Yuen Lam, Les, Renu, Persephone, and Grace for attending camp with the Year 5 students.
