The Resilience Project Excursion
On Wednesday as a junior unit we had our excursion to St Joseph’s Echuca to visit Martin from The Resilience Project. He shared stories that linked to The Resilience Project’s teachings; gratitude, empathy, mindfulness & emotional literacy. He was very engaging, and the kids enjoyed listening to him! This is what went well for everyone from the day we spent with Martin:
“Martin was so funny and good! I loved dancing! I cannot wait to go home and say Dis!” Alyssa, Hope & Addison
“He was good! We got to do beatboxing.” Jace
“I liked going up on stage with Martin.” Freddie
“He was funny!” Cruz
“I liked being able to give hugs, knuckles and hi fives to other people” Adelyn
Scooter Ed with Ms McEvoy

“Playing scooter games with Ms McEvoy. The game was cow, dog, sheep & cat.” Stanley & Molly
R U OK? Day
Throughout the week we have been engaging in different activities to promote R U OK? Day. On Monday students engaged with an interactive video where they explored different options to take when they come across different situations in the school yard. On Thursday students asked each other conversation starters. Then to finish off the week students rotated around 4 different activities.
“If you notice someone sad you could ask them if they are ok.” Ned & Hazel
“You need to be kind to people when they are upset and if they are sad, you can help them or ask if they are okay. You can also include them in your games or if they are hurt you could take them to the office. If they are alone, you could check on them. You are being safe, respectful & responsible.” Evie, Harper & Alice

The Resilience Project Excursion
On Wednesday we had the pleasure of seeing Martin from The Resilience Project at St Joseph’s College Echuca. Martin taught us lots about gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness. Martin kept us all engaged, energy levels were high and lots of fun was had. Thank you Martin for a wonderful session, we have walked away with lots of practical tools that can be implemented into our daily routines.
Issy R - “Dancing with Martin was the best and celebrating things we’re grateful for quietly”.
Eloise - “Martin was very kind and we had lots of fun with him”
Hunter - “When Martin shared his story about jumping in the river with his friends”.
Myah - “When I got to say what I’m grateful for on the microphone – shelter and my family”.
Scooter Ed with Ms McEvoy
The last few weeks the juniors have participated in Scooter Ed with Ms McEvoy. Students learnt lots of skills: teamwork, communication, spatial awareness, eye and hand coordination, resilience and persistence. Students had lots of fun implementing these skills during the obstacle course and other games.
Year 3/4
Our Year 3/4 students have had a fantastic few weeks! First, they travelled to Swan Hill, stepping back in time at the Pioneer Settlement, where they enjoyed themselves and represented our school wonderfully. Next, they visited Echuca to hear from Martin at The Resilience Project, learning about the power of Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness. Martin's engaging talk inspired students to see how practicing these for just 21 days can shift our mindset from negative to positive. Lastly, we embraced R U OK? Day, reminding students how a simple question can spark meaningful conversations that make a real difference.
Here is what our students had to say...
Camp
Georgia - “I really enjoyed the vintage car and to see how different it was to my car.”
Charlotte - "Morse code was really fun, it was challenging at times and interesting.”
Archie - “I loved the Paddle Steamer because we travelled up the Murray River and saw some interesting things.”
Isla - “I enjoyed the lolly shop and seeing all the different food that was from the olden days.”
Alex - “I enjoyed the Paddle Steamer because I was with all my friends, and we saw how it worked and the Murray River.”

Ellie - “ I loved camp because I got to spend more time with my friends and spend money on lollies.”
The Resilience Project Excursion
Charlie - “Martin talked about how he got the courage to try something really hard and that was scary for him but afterwards he was able to see he could have a go and try it again and not feel that worried.”
Sophie - “I enjoyed meeting Martin in real life and how he used real life examples of how to be courageous and brave.”
Ivy - “I liked when he talked about his friend who had an invisible friend and how this helped him in life.”
Emily - “Martin was very funny and had the ability to make people smile and that is a great quality to have.”

Year 5/6
Congratulations to our students who performed at Sandhurst Arts on Show yesterday. For some students, this event was not their preferred activity, however, they participated with enthusiasm and loads of smiles. We were very proud of their efforts and energy.
Thanks to Ms Lupa and Miss Eade for the work they put in to preparing the students for yesterday.
The Resilience Project Excursion
On Thursday we met Martin from the Resilience Project.
Martin taught us all about gratitude, empathy and mindfulness. We loved hearing his amazing stories of people who were resilient in so many ways.
R U OK? Day
On Friday, we held a community learning day with a focus on R U OK? Day.
The day featured several rotations, including Kelly Sport, Auslan, Key Colouring, and Footpath Drawings.
In Kelly Sport, we participated in team relays that required students to work together and encourage each other. In Auslan, we learned how to ask someone if they are okay and the signs for various emotions.
The Key Colouring activity allowed students to creatively represent "the key to being a good friend." The Footpath Drawings involved brightening someone’s day with inspiring words and drawings.
