Message from Liz

The Resilience Project

It was truly a delight to participate in the community session with Martin Heppell from The Resilience Project. Throughout the week, he consistently engaged with teachers, students, and parents, delivering his heartfelt message with enthusiasm and sincerity. Stories and videos supported his connection to everyone listening.

The essence of his message is quite simple: the more positive emotions we experience, the greater our resilience will be. Considering this, we prioritise three key pillars that are known to foster positive emotions: Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness. Additionally, The Resilience Project programs emphasize the importance of Connection, Purpose, Kindness, Emotional Literacy, and Physical Health.

We are genuinely excited to be a part of the Rochester initiative and to collaborate with The Resilience Project over the next three years. We feel fortunate to have a head start in 2024, thanks to the generous support from Coles.

Learning Conversations

Thank you to all families that attended the Learning Conversations across the last two weeks. Collaborating with families is essential for achieving positive outcomes for children. It is vital that teachers work closely with parents, carers, and families to support student wellbeing and academic success. This partnership strengthens communication and creates a supportive environment, helping students thrive both in their learning and personal development.

Today, we celebrated the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation

We pray for Confirmation students; Harrison, Mila, Tilly, Gracie & Seth, and the Eucharist students; Hayden, Jess, Jed, Jacob & Sophie, as they continue their faith journey at St Joseph’s.

Loving God,

Pour out your blessing Upon our children,

That during this time of Sacramental preparation

They may grow closer to you,

And come to know your special love for them.

May this time of preparation be a time of blessing

For our families and our community,

And unite us all in your great love.

Amen.

Term 4 Transition

Our Little Joey’s program will start to take on a different focus in Term 4 as our future Joey’s prepare in earnest for the beginning of their school journey.

In Term 4, Week 1, we will share a more detailed program with the focus for each session.

See the flyer below for dates and times for Term 4.

As we approach the end of Term 3, I would like to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the accomplishments and efforts of our entire community:

First, a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff. Their unwavering commitment to embracing new learning strategies to enhance student outcomes is truly commendable. Your children, who are our students, remain at the heart of all their endeavors.

We also extend our gratitude to families, parents, and friends. Your trust in us is invaluable, and we deeply appreciate the importance of communication in ensuring that every child can thrive. We are eager to continue this collaborative effort in Term 4.

Our students have demonstrated remarkable dedication this term. With high expectations set by the staff for learning and growth, all students have made commendable efforts to meet these standards.

End of Term 3 is Friday 20th September.  School ends at 2.15pm.

Thank you for your confidence and ongoing support.

Warm regards,
