2025 Co-Curricular Selections

With the commencement of Term 4, we are now asking students to consult their parents regarding their selections for the 2025 Co-curricular year.

Later this week you will receive an email with more information. Please ensure you read the information provided thoroughly before making your choices. The 2025 Co-curricular year for the current Year 7 to 11 students commenced at the start of Term 4 this year and will conclude at the end of Term 3, 2025.

To streamline the registration process, all selections should be made through the TASS Parent Lounge. Please complete all co-curricular selections via the Parent Lounge by 5:00 PM on Friday 1 November 2024.

The email you receive later this week will have attached instructions detailing "How to Sign Up" through TASS and the “Co-curricular Activities - Level of Involvement” listing details about the time commitment, seasonal schedules, and locations of competitions/performances for each activity. I hope this information will help parents/carers and boys make informed choices. Additionally, when registering for an activity, make sure to read the "Co-curricular Selection Letter" in the Terms and Conditions section, and click the green "Submit to School" button at the end to finalise your selections through TASS.

I would remind parents/carers that once boys indicate they are going to participate in an activity they are making a binding commitment. Please feel free to contact me through College Reception if you have any queries on 9763 1000.

As you consider your options, remember: “In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take..” Embrace the opportunity to get involved and make unforgettable memories!

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

UNSW Solar Car Challenge

Last Saturday, several students from the Science Club, entered a solar car in a race at UNSW. The entire photovoltaic engineering department was out, with their Frankenstein racing solar car, with parts from a tesla, mustang and many more!

Out of the two cars entered, only one ended up racing on the day. This car would prove that we were meant to be there, surpassing different cars until it got into the finals. The car was now top 4 out of approximately 135 other cars. The day started nice and sunny, but slowly turned overcast as the top 4 battled it out for a spot in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, the sun wasn’t shinning on us and so our car couldn’t drive, and thus losing by a technicality.

When the sun was shining, the solar car's performance in the race was nothing short of impressive. Having very fast acceleration and high-top speed. We modified and improvised before and after every race, adding buffers and different parts to the car so it can adapt and achieve depending on what it is put to. Overall, we all had a blast on Saturday, and really enjoyed racing our car, which performed way better than expected.
