CELEBRATION OF TERM 3:
Basketball Gala Day: A Day of Team Spirit and Achievement!
At the end of the term, our 5/6 students and staff had an exciting day at the district basketball gala day held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their skills and sportsmanship on the court.
A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers! Your support was instrumental in making this event a success, and we truly appreciate the time and effort you dedicated to our students.
We were incredibly proud of our students, who demonstrated exceptional teamwork, supported one another, and played with determination. Their commitment to sharing the ball and playing together was inspiring to witness.
Congratulations to our All Stars boys, who secured first place, and our All Stars girls, who finished in a commendable second place! Your hard work and dedication paid off, and we couldn't be prouder.
It was a memorable day filled with fun, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We look forward to more events like this in the future.
Exploring the Olympics: A Passionate Term 3!
This term, our students focused on a thrilling topic: the Olympics! At the start of Term 3, they immersed themselves in the rich history of the Games, discovering everything from the current events and countries represented to the stunning uniforms and how Paris is organising its stadiums for the upcoming Olympics.
Students had the chance to explore their interests in four key areas: sports, the Paralympics, stadiums, and uniforms. This exploration ignited their creativity and passion. Many students designed innovative new uniforms, with some even trying their hand at sewing for the first time!
Their investigations and prototypes were impressive. Some students designed their own basketball stadiums, while others recreated the volleyball stadium under the iconic Eiffel Tower. A group created a podcast reporting on basketball and gymnastics, showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm for these sports. Additionally, some students delved into the important topic of LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the Olympics, investigating policies and advocating for a more inclusive environment.
It’s been a wonderful term of learning, creativity, and exploration. We’re proud of our students for their hard work and dedication, and we can’t wait to see where their passions take them next!
