Grade 1 & 2

Term 3 - Week 8

This week has been very busy, special and exciting. It began with Father’s Day, then Wheelie Wednesday and Book Week.

Wheelie Wednesday was a lovely day and it was amazing to see so many different kinds of Wheelie items. The weather was beautiful and the children enjoyed safely riding around the school grounds.

The theme for Book Week, this year, is ‘Reading is Magic’ and it certainly is.  Reading  helps us expand our minds and opens us up to new opportunities,” says children’s book author Malcolm Mitchell. “When we see the world in different ways, it allows us to make better decisions.” Reading provides success in life, allowing children to connect with others. Reading opens a new world of ideas and perspectives we don’t often encounter in our ‘normal lives’. All the children were very excited to get dressed up and become their favourite book character. It was so great to have multiple different book characters joining us for all the fun of exploring award winning books.

In Literacy this week we were learning about and writing procedures. We read ‘Making Yoghurt’ and wrote a procedure on ‘How to Make Fruit Salad’ along we 'How to Draw a Monster'.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
