ACS Touch Football Gala Day - Tamworth
Last Friday, 40 of our Stage 2 and 3 students traveled to Tamworth for the annual ACS Touch Football Gala Day!
We entered five teams into the competition, and two—the Glen Galahs and the Glen Goats—put up an incredible fight, narrowly missing the semi-finals on a count-back. A special shout-out to both teams for successfully combining their efforts with students from St Mary’s of the Angels Guyra!
A huge congratulations to all our players. Your fantastic sportsmanship, great teamwork, and positive cooperation throughout the day made the event truly enjoyable for everyone.
We extend a special thank you to four past St Joey's students who returned for the day to serve as our official referees: Mary Arandale, Ethan Graham, Mylie Doust, and Molly Chard. These amazing former students were busy from start to finish and did a sensational job managing the games and keeping the flow moving. They are truly wonderful role models for our current students—showing exactly what hard work, dedication, and school spirit can look like in the years ahead!
Thank you to our wonderful helpers! These events don't happen on their own! We extend our sincere gratitude to staff members Mrs Libby Little, Mrs Emma Newberry, and Mrs Tarrant for their tremendous support.
A massive acknowledgment of appreciation also goes to our generous parents and family coaches: Julie Watson, Nicole Watson, Isabelle Wright, and Dan Sisson (from Guyra). Your willingness to coach and support our students is deeply appreciated—the students and teachers absolutely loved having you there!

Water Awareness - Week 4
We are wrapping up our annual Water Awareness Week at the town pool, and the results are inspiring! We are so proud of the significant boost in both swimming skills and confidence our students achieved through this dedicated program. The rapid progress they make in such a short, intensive period is truly remarkable.
The success of Water Awareness Week relies entirely on experienced leadership. A massive thank you to our professional and qualified swimming instructors: Bec Willis, Karen Fletcher, Karen Marshall, Veronica MacNamara, Simone Kerr, Danielle Pollard, and Dakota Kerr. Your high level of expertise delivers the best possible instruction for our students!
And thank you to all our staff and parents for your amazing flexibility and support this week. It takes a collective effort to coordinate this program, and while our students might be exhausted by Friday, the lasting skills and water safety awareness they gain are invaluable.

As our school sporting season finishes up for the year, I want to give a huge shout-out to the three local bus companies who have been instrumental in our success and safety throughout the year.
Thank you to New England Coaches (the Arandales), Glen Innes Bus Services (the Velciches), and Hancocks Bus Services (the Hancocks).
These companies have safely transported our students to and from every single sporting event. They are consistently a pleasure to work with—their professionalism and willingness to assist with all of our travel needs make logistics easy. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do for us at St Joeys. Thank you for a reliable and safe year of travel!
