Prep News

Last week, our classrooms wriggled with excitement as we read Superworm by Julia Donaldson and watched the animated version too! Superworm’s heroic antics — from being a fishing rod to a skipping rope — inspired us to get creative. Using collage, we imagined Superworm as an acrobat, a crane, and a skipping rope again!

Grade 3/4 News

Excursion to the Science Discovery Centre and White Hills Botanical Gardens

On Friday the 10th October the Grades 3 and 4 had their excursion to the Science Discovery Centre in Bendigo as a lead in activity to our Inquiry Study of Gravitational Forces and Space. They each participated in the Planetarium and the general exhibits. Some brave students even gave the Vertical Slide a go. The Science Discovery Centre’s hands on approach to learning allows everyone access to great learning and sparks curiosity and questions.

From there we ventured to the White Hills Botanical Gardens where everyone had the opportunity to picnic and participate in various picnic games. There were three-legged races (which were hilarious), parachute games and dodgeball, as well as other classics like over and under tunnel ball and duck, duck, goose. The weather was a blessing, and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to join in on all the fun.

Well done to all those in Grade 3 and 4 and thanks for a terrific day.

The Year 5/6 students have been looking at the seven principles of Catholic Social Teaching. The students pulled apart the Beatitude Prayer, looking at how it relates to the Catholic Social Teaching and how Jesus wanted us to live. In small groups they represented different sections of the prayer.
