Supporting Students to Make Positive Choices

At Edgeworth Public School, we are committed to supporting every student to make positive choices and to learn from challenges. Starting this term, each week, the Deputy Principals are reviewing any negative behaviour incidents that have occurred. This allows us to identify patterns, respond early, and provide the right support for students who may be experiencing difficulties.

We then share this information with staff so that everyone is aware of how best to assist and encourage these students. The following week, check-ins take place with the students involved to talk through how things are going, celebrate improvements, and discuss any concerns or triggers that may still be present. Together, we work on finding practical solutions and setting goals for continued success.

By taking a proactive, consistent, and caring approach, we aim to help students develop responsibility, strengthen their relationships, and contribute positively to our school community.

Supporting Strong School Attendance

Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in helping students succeed at school. Together with the DP Check In Initiative, attendance data is also being reviewed and shared with staff weekly to identify any patterns of concern or students who may be at risk of falling behind. This allows us to reach out early, check in with students and families, and offer support to help improve attendance. Teachers are also able to share this data with their classes to encourage, improved attendance.

We know that every day at school matters. By working together with families, we aim to ensure that all students are engaged, connected, and making the most of their learning opportunities. If you are experiencing challenges that make getting to school difficult, please contact us, we are here to help.

Second-Hand Uniforms Needed

If your child has outgrown any school uniforms that are still in good condition, please think about donating them to the school. We are currently in desperate need of School Polos. These clothes help other students who need uniforms, and it’s a great way to reuse and save resources. Thank you for your help!

This week the Deputies had a visit from Louella who checked in on their to do list to make sure they are working hard. We may have a new Deputy Principal in town!
