Camp

Firstly, may all of the Year 7s have a wonderful school camp. I’ve been hearing about some of the activities that you will be doing, and I’m excited for you all.

I also understand, that for some people, it can feel a little scary doing something new and going somewhere new. Guess what, that’s totally normal. Yes, it’s normal to feel a bit anxious or worried about going or doing something new. Even us as adults can feel nervous or a little worried about doing something new, it’s a normal part of our bodies and minds getting ready to try something that we haven’t tried before.

A little tip that can help:

Instead of letting the mind focus on the “What if” or “Can I do this right?” – just have a go.

Write down on a sticky note, or some nice paper, the good things that you’ll have fun doing while away on camp. The reason for that, is writing stuff down using “old technology” helps our brain to remember what we’ve learned, because we are using a lot of our senses.

Anyway, may you all have a wonderful time and I look forward to hearing about camp when you return.

Cheers, Pip
