Year 9 My Career Insights – Morrisby Program

The Department of Education gives every Victorian Government school student free access to the world-leading Morrisby online career education tool. At Greater Shepparton Secondary College, this happens in Year 9.

Morrisby helps your child make informed choices for senior secondary school and beyond by exploring their strengths, interests and career opportunities.

All Year 9 students at Greater Shepparton Secondary College are encouraged to complete the My Career Insights (Morrisby) program which is administered during normal school time. This incredibly valuable program, specifically for Year 9 students, will enable students to:

  • Learn about the skills and abilities they could bring to a job
  • Find out about what jobs match their abilities, interests and personality, and the subjects they need for those jobs.

As part of the program, students will:

  • Complete a series of online questions and quizzes at school (on the Morrisby Profile website)
  • Receive a Morrisby Profile report showing their results
  • Have a 30-minute meeting with a Morrisby-trained Career practitioner, who will explain the report to them.

Parental permission is required for students to participate in the full program. You can provide this permission by accessing and completing the parent/guardian permission form (attached on Compass notice 12th March) that your student returns to school.

Or, your child can collect a copy of the form from their Neighbourhood Careers Practitioner, located in the Careers Hub:

Neighbourhood 1 - Tarsh Boyko

Neighbourhood 2 - Greg Bristol

Neighbourhood 3 - Dan Watson

Students who do not have parental permission will participate in a modified version of the program. You can access more information about the program here https://www.vic.gov.au/my-career-insights We appreciate your support of this valuable program.
