Foundation/Grade 1

Inquiry

On Monday the Foundation & Grade 1 students begun their oral presentations sharing about themselves. Students were asked to bring in 4 items to share with the class to share about something that only they have, something from their past, something that represents what they want to do in the future, and something about their family. Students focused on speaking clearly and giving eye contract.

RRRR/TRP

During this week's RRRR/TRP lesson students focused on their strengths through games and discussions. Students came up with 4 personal strengths and qualities, noting that some may be the same or different to our friends but that is okay as it means there are people that can help us or teach us.

Grade 2

Maths

The Grade 2 SK class have been busy learning all about telling the time and recognising the hands to the quarter and half past the hour on an analogue clock. We are using different tools to help us explore the concept of time, clock faces, presentations and even creating our own clocks.

Religion

The students have been learning about the importance of prayer:

  • Identifying prayer as an expression of God’s relationship with each of us and a way of responding to this relationship
  • Describing various ways they can pray
  • Identifying and participating in different types of prayer.

We have listened to songs, found a special place to pray, responded to images and symbols and, as small groups created prayers of the faithful which we will present to the school community at Assembly.

Grade 3/4

NAPLAN

Congratulations to the Grade 3 students for successfully completing all four components of the NAPLAN assessment! Throughout the testing process, students demonstrated incredible resilience and perseverance, especially when faced with challenging questions. Well done on your hard work and determination!

Kelly Sports

Last week the Grade 3 & 4’s had Coach Tarryn. She worked with us on our soccer skills; dribbling, tapping, passing, kicking and ball control. After we had worked on these individually with our own soccer ball, we worked in pairs to consolidate these skills. To end the session, we got into two teams and played number soccer. Each student was given a number on each team, and when your number got called out you versed the other team member, with the same number, to get a goal for your team. We had lots of fun!

Miss Eade Away

For those who may have missed the letter, Miss Eade will be on planned leave for the last two weeks of the term. During her absence, students will be supported by two familiar teachers.

The letter is attached for your reference.

Grade 5/6

NAPLAN

Congratulations to our Grade 5 students for successfully completing all four components of the NAPLAN assessment! Throughout the testing process, they showed incredible effort, resilience, and perseverance, tackling each question with determination. It was wonderful to see them approach challenges with a positive mindset and give their best. We are so proud of their hard work and commitment—well done, Year 5!

In English, we have continued to delve deeply into the themes and action of War Horse, and we have worked hard on our narrative story writing; drawing inspiration from War Horse. Our students have been crafting engaging narratives and are now busily working on their resolutions and concluding paragraphs. It has been fantastic to see their creativity shine as they bring their stories to a meaningful close.

Maths

In Maths, we have been exploring multiples, factors, and all things number! Students have been investigating number patterns, divisibility rules, and problem-solving strategies to deepen their understanding of these important concepts.

Be Brave Basketball Clinic

A definite highlight in Grade 5/6 was also the 'Be Brave Basketball Clinic,' where we were lucky enough to have two special guests from the Bendigo Braves join us! They shared their skills, tips, and stories about what it takes to be an athlete and an amazing leader. It was an inspiring and fun-filled session that left us all eager to keep practising, not only our basketball skills but continue to develop ourselves as the great leaders we are!

We look forward to more learning, fun, and special events in the coming weeks.
