It has been a great start in STEM in 2025! We are excited that Mrs. Allwright and Mrs. Johnson are participating in STEM teaching this year! In Term one, we focus on biological science in STEM.
The Preps have had a great start to the year in STEM! They have learnt about our STEM classroom expectations and how they can demonstrate the PROUD values. Last week, Prep students enjoyed learning how to code with Bee Bots.
Grade one and two students started learning about plants and their needs, and they conducted a guided experiment about the needs of plants.
Grade Three and Four students started learning about living things and their characteristics. They explored animal and plant cells as the basic unit of living things on the microscopes.
Grade Five and Six students started the Term exploring the variety of living things and their basic classification. They then researched the uses of microorganisms in daily life. Students learned about what a fair test is and how to identify and control variables in designing fair tests. Following this learning, they conducted a fair test to investigate the effect of moisture on mould growth.
