Physical Education
Prep
Over the past few weeks, our Prep students have been focusing on important skills to help them learn and play safely in Physical Education.
Through fun and engaging activities, the students have been focusing on the importance of moving and playing safely to ensure a safe and fun environment for all.
It’s been wonderful to see our students grow in these areas, supporting their positive start to the school year!
Grade 1 and 2
Our Grade 1 and 2 students have been focusing on interacting positively with others. We've been learning how important it is to follow rules in games to keep things fair, safe, and fun for everyone.
Students have practiced turn-taking in minor games, making sure everyone gets a chance to play. They've also been working on sharing equipment so everyone can join in and enjoy the games together.
It’s great to see how our students are using these skills to work together and have fun in their PE lessons!
Grade 3 and 4
In Physical Education, Grade 3 and 4 students have been focusing on inclusiveness and fair play. They've been working together to collaboratively decide on rules for new games, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to participate.
Students have also been learning to recognize when someone feels excluded or when something is unfair in games, and they’ve been coming up with strategies to make things better. They’re becoming more aware of the consequences of their actions, both individually and as a team, and how this impacts the fairness and enjoyment of the game.
It’s been great to see our students building a positive and inclusive environment in PE!
Grade 5 & 6
In Physical Education, Grade 5 and 6 students have been focusing on AFL 9’s. They’ve been learning to handball accurately to a target and are gaining confidence in performing a chest or overhead mark.
Students have also been practicing how to take a set shot at goal and are improving their ability to accurately score a goal. It’s exciting to see their skills developing as they work together in this team-based sport!
