Leadership Communication

My Lord and My God

Dear Families,

'Project Compassion' officially began on Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. A box per family went home a little while ago to families. One of the things Catholic do during the season of Lent is 'almsgiving'. 'Almsgiving' is an old fashioned word for giving money to the poor.

If your family would like to donate money to the poor, you can use the Project Compassion box to collect money or you can go direct to the Caritas website.

Project Compassion is the work of Caritas, a Catholic organisation that distributes money to much needed communities. Caritas works in the poorest of the poor locations around the world.  If you'd like to find out where the money goes you can visit here.

Caritas has a very good reputation for channeling funds where it should go, and avoids exorbitant amounts going to their own infrastructure.

Please remember to return the boxes to school by the end of the term. We pray that our efforts this year are yet again, generous and heartfelt! St Thomas the Apostle has shown tremendous support for Project Compassion over the years.
