日本語 Japanese

こんにちは(Konnichiwa) from Japanese class!

We have been learning (revising) numbers and greetings in Foundation and Grades 1/2 and 3 this Term.  On Week 8, we made a mobile phone by using Kanji numbers they practiced in the class and learned how we answer the phone "もしもし(Moshi moshi)" the common telephone greetings.

Grades 4 to 6 have been introduced to some nature kanji and learned to express the existence of things or animals/people.  They made their Japanese gardens individually this week and practiced how we say existence by using あります(arimasu) and います(imasu).

Japanese gardens express the flow of mountains, seas, and floating islands using sand and rocks without water. Students made the miniature version of this meditative and calming space, and they will take it home next week to show and share with you what they created. I hope you will be fascinated to see those beautiful gardens and that they do not make too much mess at home.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions and inquiries!
