Assistant Principal's Report

A message from Lea Volpe

We hope everyone had a restful and rejuvenating break and is ready for an exciting and successful new term! As we return to school, we are eager to continue fostering a positive, engaging and enriching learning environment for all students. We look forward to the growth, exploration and achievements that lie ahead.

Important Reminders

As we enter the new term, we would like to take a moment to remind everyone of our Communication with Staff Policy, which is designed to ensure effective and respectful communication between parents, students and staff.

Key Points to Remember:

  1. Primary Communication Channels: Parents are encouraged to communicate through designated channels such as emails through Compass or telephone. For general inquiries, please contact the school's front office or your child’s subschool.
  2. Respectful Interaction: We ask that all communication remains respectful, constructive and considerate of the staff’s time and responsibilities. Teachers and staff members are committed to your child’s success, and we want to maintain a positive atmosphere in all interactions.
  3. Response Times: Staff members may need some time to respond to messages due to their teaching and administrative duties. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 3 working days. If the matter is urgent, please don’t hesitate to indicate that in your message and we will endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours.
  4. Appointments and Meetings: If a face-to-face meeting is required please schedule an appointment in advance. This ensures that both parties have adequate time to address your concerns and needs.
  5. Student Communication: Students are encouraged to communicate directly with their teachers about any academic questions or issues during class hours or via email through Compass. Students should also follow the appropriate procedures for handling conflicts or concerns with their peers or staff.
  6. Right to Disconnect: As parents are aware there are now new laws that every employee has the right to disconnect. Therefore, you can send an email after hours but staff might not read it until the next school day. If it is urgent please send it to a member of the Principal Team.

By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure that communication remains open, respectful and effective throughout the term. Please find the Communication with Staff Policy attached to this article which provides more detail.

We are excited about what the new year brings and are confident that, with the support and cooperation of everyone, it will be a successful and productive time for all. Let’s continue working together to create an environment where our students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a great year ahead!
