BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED
This term we’ve introduced our new school values: Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be an Active Learner — and what a difference seeing these values shine in action has made! From classroom discussions to the playground, students and staff have been exploring what it truly means to live these values.
We began with lessons that defined each value — what it looks like, what it doesn’t, and why it matters. Students worked through examples and non-examples, sharing ideas about how kindness, responsibility, and active learning show up in our school community. Then, they took part in activities to practise these attributes.
Â
BE KIND:Â We are kind to ourselves and others with our words and actions. We make respectful and caring choices that positively impact other people. We build relationships to create a community where everybody belongs. Â Â Â Â Â
    Â
BE RESPONSIBLE:Â We look after ourselves and show respect to people, places and our environment. We make positive choices and understand that our choices can impact others. We do the right thing even if no one is watching and accept the results of our actions.
Â
BE AN ACTIVE LEARNER:Â We engage with our learning and are curious to learn more about the people and world around us. We strive to do our best and persist when faced with challenges. We are proud of our efforts and celebrate our achievements.
It has been wonderful to see so many students stepping up: helping classmates, taking responsibility for their actions, asking questions, cooperating, and trying new things. These moments, big and small, are how values become habits.
Â
When: Thursday 18th September, 12:30–3:30 pm  What’ Happening: A special afternoon to honour how well our students have embraced our values so far. Everyone will stay in class to start, then move into mixed-age groups and rotate through three fun activities that celebrate kindness, responsibility, and active learning.
Expect games, challenges, collaborations, and good times — all with a strong focus on our values. It’s going to be a joyful way to end the term, reflect on what we’ve learned, and look forward to carrying these values forward.
Thank you to everyone — students, staff, families — for embracing this journey. Our school is growing in kindness, responsibility, and curiosity every day. We can’t wait to celebrate together on the 18th!
