Ulverstone Primary Student Leaders

Hi everyone! It's great to be back writing for you all. We hope you’ve had a fantastic term and are ready for all the other exciting things coming your way! So get ready to make some awesome memories with your classmates and teachers!
Some upcoming events we have are Footy Colours Day and 5/6 Casual Clothes Day! Footy Colours Day will be held on 25 September. We can’t spill all the tea and fun activities we’ve got planned but please make sure you come in your sports clothes and represent your favourite sports team! This is a great way to support and share your team with others.
In week 5 of this term, we had Book Week! Every student was amazing; we had superheroes, Dr Seuss book characters and even dinosaurs! Lucky they weren’t hungry! Book Week is a hit every year and people have started to plan for next year! We had lights pointing everywhere, music and even a story time with Kinder from Mrs Jackson.
The Preps have also recently gone for an excursion at Wings Wildlife Park. They saw so many animals from tiny snakes and lizards to big camels and cows. They learnt a lot of fun facts, everyone came back so excited and told everyone their stories.
Another thing recently we must acknowledge, and give a big thank you to are our Learning Support Aides (LSAs) for helping us in and out of the classroom. We appreciate everything you do to help us and the teachers. You definitely have a big impact in our classrooms and we are so grateful for what you do.
“Thank you for all the hard work and things you do behind the scenes”
–Miss Hayes & Mr Webb
“We are so thankful to our incredible Learning Support Aides. They are always there to get alongside our students and ensure that they are nurtured and cared for in their days. Teachers and students alike benefit from the amazing support that our LSAs provide!”
–Mrs Beer
“We are incredibly blessed to work with such kind-hearted and compassionate Learning Support Aides. They brighten our days, help children feel seen, heard and supported. We are truly grateful for their hearts, and the care they pour into everything they do. God bless you all!”
-Mrs Miles
Festival of Voices
At the end of last term, on 30 June, The Leighland Christian School Choir went to Hobart for the Festival of Voices. They stayed at the Old Woolstore because it was nice and close to the university. When we all got to the accommodation, we went to the rooms and put some of our stuff in our rooms. Then we all met up on the bus, the choir went to the University of Tasmania to practise and that's where we performed on the night. We saw other school choirs there, the Bellerive Primary School Honor Choir, Campbell Street Primary School Choir, Crescendo Music Hub, and Immaculate Heart of Mary School Choir all joined us, the Leighland Christian School Senior Choir. At the end of the night, it wasn’t long before bed and the students were already asleep. The next morning the students had their breakfast and we went back to the university for some more practice and did another performance. The following morning, students were starting to pack up and get their gear together then they hopped on the bus and came back to school.
Bible verse of the term: Thessalonians 5:11
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” This is a very big and important Bible verse; this Bible verse means don’t bring people down, encourage them, it’s easier to bring down than up, so we’ve got to work at it! So, all we ask from you for the next week and beyond, is try and build people up! Even if it’s just a smile to a stranger or a simple easy compliment - it doesn’t even cost money. You can build people up and it costs nothing, so why don’t you do it more?
From,
The Year 6 Leadership Team
