Monday 27th October to Wendeday 29th October

Year 3 Group 1 Camp

Group 1 (3I, 3E, 3D, 3B, 3J) will go from 27th -29th  October.  The students will be staying for 2 nights and 3 days. They will travel by bus to the campsite.

 

Monday 27th October

Year 9 Vic Pol Forensic Science Incursion

Students will attend a talk given by a Forensic Officer from Victoria Police Forensic Science Department. Students will gain an insight on the job scope, challenges and opportunities of a forensic officer. 

At the end of the session, students will be able to have a Q & A session with the speaker. Applies to students taking Advanced Biology and Forensic masterclass.

Wednesday 29th October to Friday 31st October

Year 3 Group 2 Camp

Group 2 (3A, 3C, 3F, 3G, 3H) will go from 29th -31st October.  The students will be staying for 2 nights and 3 days. They will travel by bus to the campsite.

 

Thursday 30th October

Year1  F G H I   Stay late 

As part of our school-wide camps program, the Year 1 students will be engaging in a 'Stay-Late' in order to prepare them for the Year 2 Sleepover in 2026. The purpose of the stay late is for students to experience staying away from home later than usual with peers, understanding the expectations of out-of-hours incursions/camps and ultimately connecting and spending time with their peers in a different context and setting.

 

The night will begin promptly at 4:30pm and will finish at 7:00pm

Thursday 6th November

Year 9 Holmesglen Institute Careers & Pathways Excursion 

The Holmesglen Institute Careers & Pathways Excursion will provide Year 9 students with the opportunity to explore a range of tertiary education and career pathways. 

 

Year1  A B C D E  Stay late

Monday 10th November

Prep Wastewise Education Incursion

As part of our inquiry into Environmental Sustainability, the Prep students will undertake an incursion to learn how to manage general rubbish bins, how to recycle right, and discover what happens to their waste once it is collected from the kerbside. We’ll also cover why it is important to recycle and learn about the 3 R’s - reduce, reuse, and recycle.

 

Tuesday 11th November

P-2 Kaboom Kids Sports 2025

Students will participate in class and year level groups on the Mainview Oval behind the school with a range of engaging activities at a selected time during the school day. Students that are not participating will be supervised by another teacher. This will still be a regular school day. The structure of the day will be as follows:

Year 1: 9-10:20

Year Two: 10:30-11.50

Prep: 12:00-1.20

 

Thursday 13th November

Year 9 Swinburne University Excursion

Our Year 9 cohort will have an opportunity to visit the Swinburne Glenferrie Campus to spend the day there. 

Students will need to bring a charged Myki, full school uniform and food/drink for the day. There will be limited opportunity to purchase food on the day - Swinburne Cafeteria only. 

  • Students will meet at Williams Landing Station at 8.25am sharp for a roll call. 
  • They will take 2 trains to Glenferrie Stations, before the short walk to the campus.
  • They will take the same route back at the end of the day, and be dismissed from Williams Landing Station at 2.35pm

 

Friday 14th November

Year 9 A, B, C Careers Excursion to Science Gallery group 1

On this excursion, students will have the opportunity to attend Melbourne Science Gallery where they will participate in the Distraction tour and how to detect AI module. 

Students will participate in facilitator-led group activities and discussions that prompt critical thinking and provoke curiosity.

Staff will be at the Williams Landing station in Hi Vis vests. 

  • Students will meet at Williams Landing station at 8:30 to get 8:45 train. 

     

  • Students will return to Williams Landing at 2:35

Year 4 children will enjoy 5 days of an intensive swim program at Westbourne Grammar Sports & Aquatic Centre from Monday December 1st until Friday December 5th

They will have one 45 min swim lesson per day at the same time over the five days. Swim Sessions will follow the following format...

Session 1 9.00-9.45

Session 2 9.45-10.30

Session 3 10.30-11.15

Session 4 11.15-12.00

 

Friday 5th December

Year 7- 9 Athletic Carnival

This event is an opportunity for students and teachers to run, throw and jump against each other and earn points for their house!Come along in your sports uniform or house colours to represent Peris, Riley, Goollagong or Freeman!We have a range of activities planned for the day and can't wait to see you all there.

Monday 8th December to Friday 12th December

Thursday 11th December

Year 9 Graduation

Our Graduation Committee has been working hard to plan a fantastic evening of celebration. This will be an opportunity to reflect on the journey of all of our students and acknowledge their growth and achievement during this time. 

Key information for the evening:

 - The ceremony will be held in the DCC school gym. 

- Dress code for the event is semi-formal.

- The event runs from 5.00pm-7.30pm.

- Students and families are welcome to enter from 4.50pm so that we can make a prompt start 

- The first hour of the graduation (5.00-6.00pm) will be formal ceremony, including awards and speeches. . 

- From 6.00-6.30pm, some finger food will be provided for all to enjoy. 

- The final hour of the ceremony (6.30-7.30pm) will be students-only festivities (supervised by staff).

- At 7.25pm, families are invited back to the gym to collect their child and depart. 

-Families are welcome to bring up to 2 family members to the event (an RSVP form will be provided separately). 

- This event is heavily subsidised by the school. There will be a cost of $15 per student to contribute to catering.
