Foundation Painting

Over the past two weeks, students in Foundation have been focused on creating a multi-media artwork. We drew and painted a vehicle of our choice, using black markers to outline and watercolour to paint. We then used painting, scraping and sponge techniques to add texture and detail to a background. They expressed creativity by choosing their colour and process for their background. Finally, students will cut out their vehicle and paste it onto their background. 

Grade 3/4 Van Gogh Masterpieces 

By the end of these series of lessons, students will be able to understand and explain the key characteristics of Vincent van Gogh's "The Starry Night," focusing on his use of colour, movement, and texture. Students will analyze how artists can express emotions and movement through brushwork and colour choices. Students will then incorporate elements of Van Gogh’s style to create their own starry night painting.
