Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 4

As we begin the final term for 2025, I am excited about the upcoming opportunities for our students. This term is packed with memorable events including our Coro Del Bambini concert, the much-anticipated school concert, Sports Day, Camps, and of course, our Year 6 Graduation—moments that celebrate the talents, achievements, and growth of our entire school community. While we look forward to these special occasions, it remains essential that we maintain our focus on learning right through to the end of the year. Every lesson and every day matters, and I encourage all students to continue giving their best effort in the classroom. With your support at home and our dedicated staff at school, I'm confident we will finish the year strongly and celebrate a successful 2025 together.

Online Safety

I would like to draw your attention to the eSafety Commissioner's website, which offers valuable resources to help parents navigate the digital world with their children. As our students spend increasing time online, it's important that we work together to ensure they have safe and positive experiences. The eSafety Commissioner provides practical guides on topics such as managing screen time, understanding social media platforms, responding to cyberbullying, and having age-appropriate conversations about online safety. I encourage all families to visit their website to access these free resources and stay informed about the latest digital safety issues. By partnering together—school and home—we can empower our children to be responsible, respectful, and safe digital citizens.

Ride and stride

I would like to take a moment to celebrate the fantastic success of our Ride and Stride Open Street event held late last term. It was wonderful to see so many families, students, and staff come together to enjoy our car-free Westbourne St, with children cycling, scooting, skating, and walking in a safe and joyful environment. The sense of community spirit was palpable, and the smiles on everyone's faces reminded us of the simple pleasure of active play and connection. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped make the day possible, to our local council for their support, and to every family who participated. Events like these not only promote healthy, sustainable transport options but also strengthen the bonds within our school community. We look forward to building on this success in the future.

Public School Funding

I would like to draw our community's attention to an opportunity regarding public school funding.  The legislative council legal and social issues committee is inquiring into the impact of the Victorian Government’s decision to delay raising Victoria’s school funding to 75 per cent of the Schooling Resource Standard until 2031, including the State and Commonwealth funding per student in Victorian government schools.  Submissions to the committee can be made here.
