RU OK day

The VPC/VM class planned for RU OK day which was held on Thursday the 14th of September 2023.

"We had to work in pairs to plan activities to run on the day.

On Monday during period 4 we got a delivery of boxes that contain colour powder and bottles.

We had to fill 6 bottles with each different colour powder ready for Thursday afternoon at 2:45pm.

During period 3&4 on Tuesday we finished preparing the colour run activities.

On Thursday period 3&4 we finished setting up the colour run activities, like the obstacle course.

We also went down to the butchers to place an order of meat for the BBQ and picked it up on Thursday morning.

On the day, the challenging thing that we had to do was cook all the hamburgers and sausages at the same time plus there wasn’t enough space to put all plates of cooked food ready to be served to the whole school. It took a little bit longer than we expected but as a class we managed to serve the whole school lunch.

In the afternoon during period 5 and 6 the VPC/ VM class ran the RU OK Day activities with different year levels. At 2:45 pm we did the last activity which was the colour run on the oval near the stadium to finish up the day. Overall, I enjoyed planning and organising the BBQ lunch as a class to complete one of the outcomes for personal development and the mathematics side of things."

Naracoorte Show

On Saturday 14th October Isabel, Chloe and Maggie went to Naracoorte and led the Rainsford’s cows around the Naracoorte Show. They were up against people who had 30-40 calves. This was their first competition outside Edenhope and they got first place. For the parade, Maggie got 1st and 3rd for leading the calf which was judged on how it walked and Chloe got 3rd which was judged on how the calf stood. They then had to be the judges, which was a merino fleece, fat lambs and some cows. After judging them they announced the junior judging champions which they announced Edenhope, they were all in shock. Maggie, Chloe and Isabel collected their sash along with a trophy and some money.

What a great achievement this was for the girls and for the College. Great job girls!
