Update from 3/4 Camp
The weather has been very kind to our campers over the past two days. They have completed a variety of activities including an obstacle course, rock climbing, zip-lining, archery and the giant swing. Tonight after dinner there will be a campfire and a movie. The children are having an absolute ball and the food is delicious. We are also extremely impressed with the newly renovated campsite and it’s a fantastic venue set in stunning surroundings.
A side note to the parents of the Year 3/4 students - we actually know how to polish cutlery, wipe down tables and vacuum the mess hall.
Special Person’s Morning for Father's Day - Last Friday
It was fantastic to see so many Fathers and Special Persons visiting our Foundation students last Friday. We also hope that all of our CNPS Fathers and Special Persons had a fabulous day on Sunday for Father’s Day.
Class Placement for 2024
At the start of Term 4 our teachers will commence creating the classes for 2024. Within class, teachers will ask students to list 4-5 friends that they work well with in the classroom. We are asking you to please have a chat with your child at home to start identifying these friends.
If you have a request for your child’s class placement due to wellbeing concerns, please ensure that you make this request (in writing, to Jane Bilby or Rachel Corben) no later than Monday 16 October, so that your request can be considered when organising classes for 2024. Creating classes is a very complex process and it is very difficult to make changes to the classes once they are formed. One change can have a flow on effect and impact strategic decisions and other class placement requests. We are not able to consider class placement requests made after 16 October.
At Carlton North Primary School we recognise the importance of fostering and maintaining friendship groups. We also understand that it is equally important for students to mix and learn with peers who have different interests. We will not always be able to accommodate class placement requests but will endeavour to take your wishes into consideration where possible.
All teachers at CNPS are caring and committed educators and CNPS strives to ensure that all students are provided with a high quality education. Whilst we appreciate that you may believe that your child would benefit from being placed in a class with a particular teacher, we are generally unable to accommodate these requests.
The Class Placement Policy can be found on the school’s website.
