Zoe Nugent

Welcome back to St Mary of the Angels for the final Term of 2023.  One full of Creative Arts, Presentation Evening, celebrating the successes of 2023, looking ahead to 2024 and undertaking final preparations for our Year 6 students to fly the nest.

The staff of St Mary of the Angels worked last Term with Ms Eli Simpson the Subject Matter Expert in "Strong Teams, Leadership Coaching and Student Agency" at the Catholic Schools Office on goal setting and capacity building.  This term, we are blessed to continue our work with Eli as we dive into the Living Well, Learning Well Framework that underpins everything we do as a system of schools in the Armidale Diocese.

Developing our understanding and embedding the Living Well, Learning Well practices into our school has been a core goal on our 2023 Annual Improvement Plan and will continue into 2024.

Reflective Prayer Space and Memorial Garden

What a team! The Reflective Prayer Space and Memorial Garden creation is underway.

Many thanks to Tiffany Ahumada and Karen Faint for grouting the tiles, to Michael Colvin and Mitchell Hope for the ground works and garden bed removal and Scott Youman for commencing the cementing and garden preparation.

Our thanks and awe goes to John from the Guyra Men's Shed for the stunning picnic tables and chairs and our thanks to David Nugent for pick up and delivery to our little school, as you can see, the students are already utilising the beautiful tables.  We look forward to sharing more as our garden takes shape.

Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal

St Vincent de Paul is committed to making Christmas a time to renew hope.

Vinnies continues to provide shelter, food, clothing, financial support, friendship and care for tens of thousands of people in NSW, but the need is still great and they need our help.

Together, we can renew hope this Christmas! We can all contribute to the St Mary of the Angels Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal by donating Christmas hampers or other non-perishable food and hygiene products to the school for our wonderful Guyra Conference to collect and make into hampers and packs.

Sue Adams, of the St Vincent de Paul; Guyra Conference, will receive these donations at our whole school Mass on the 29th of November.

School Advisory Council

With the School Advisory Council AGM on the 9th November, Catherine Ible, the Parent Engagement Officer for the Catholic Schools Office Armidale, will be conducting a meeting for all current and prospective SAC members for St Mary of the Angels School regarding the purpose and role of the School Advisory Council according to the Armidale Catholic Schools Board SAC Constitution.

Please note; all current members and future interested parties will be required to attend.

This will be held at St Mary of the Angels School at 5:30 pm on Tuesday 24th October 2023.

We look forward to seeing you then!

Sensitive Contact

Parents and carers are reminded to contact staff via the guyadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au email address. However, as a school community, there will be times when there may be the need for sensitive information to be shared to a closed group of educators. If this is the case, please use guyprincipal@arm.catholic.edu.au as the contact email.  This ensures that there is traceability and continuity in the case of staff changes etc.

Have a gentle fortnight, blessings...

Zoe
