Term 4, Week 2
We have two Fire Safety Incursions coming up in week four and week five. You will have received some further information about this via Compass today and it is also below.
Next week students will receive an activity to do at home where they will need to identify the 'safe meeting place' at their house. Please assist your child to complete this activity and return it to school.
Pevan and Sarah
We had an incredible day on Tuesday during our visit to the Capital Theatre to see Pevan and Sarah. The Preps showed all of our School Values and enjoying lots of singing and dancing!
Footy Colours Day
What a way to end Term 3! We had a very fun day at the Spring Gully Soccer Oval for Footy Colours Day. We did lots of activities and then watched some of the staff vs Grade 6's footy game.
Be Awesome Day Donations
For Be Awesome Day, the Preps will be running a 'Guess How Many Jellybeans' competition. Thank you to those who have already sent in donations. We are still looking for more donations, if you can.
Tissues
The Preps have run out of tissues. If you can donate a box to us, we would very much appreciate it!
Reading Satchels
We are noticing that reading satchels are pretty full at the moment. Can you please take a minute to remove anything that doesn't need to be in there?
Each student should have: decodable books, library books, word lists and sound cards. Some students will also have activities suited to their specific needs.
Notes
Please make sure to check your child's Reading Satchel frequently as this is where we put any notes that need to go home. Recently we have sent home: a swimming form (please return ASAP), book list for 2024 and school Fun Run information.
Week 3
Literacy: We will be reading the story 'A Squash and a Squeeze', the heart word 'you' and learning all about the sound that 'ea' and 'ee' make.
Mathematics:
We will be learning about 3D shapes and continuing to work on addition and how to use our knowledge of the 'friends of 10' to solve addition problems.
You can help at home by asking your child which numbers we can use to make 10. See picture below for assistance.
