Athletics
A team of 22 students consisting of grades 3-6 travelled down the highway to Ballarat on the 6th of October to compete in the Greater Western Regional Athletics Carnival. We had students competing in a range of track and field events and although we didn’t have any individual wins to celebrate, our students should be congratulated on their efforts and their participation in their events.
Basketball
We had a boys and 2 girls teams represent the school in the Colac Basketball Championships last week. The competition was very strong and it was great to see both teams compete and play well against all of the other teams. One of the girls teams went all the way through their pool undefeated before playing Elliminyt in the final. After a tough start to the game, our girls were able to push through and take out the trophy for a second year in a row. Not to be outdone by the girls, our boys team also went through undefeated before going through to the final to face off against Sacred Heart. A tough match to finish the tournament with, but to our boys’ credit, they were able to work together as a team and take out the trophy. Our teams will now move on to the Greater Western Championships to play against schools from across the Western district on the 25th of October at Blue Water, good luck to all involved.
Teachers V Students
Tomorrow is our annual Teachers V Grade 6 students game. We will be playing rebound ball and have had lots of practise during PE, focusing on throwing and catching skills, game sense and working as a team. Although I tried my hardest to prepare the students for the match, I feel like the teachers may take out the title once again!
