Principal's Report

Term 1

As we settle into the 2026 school year, I would like to welcome all students, families and staff back to our school community. The past few weeks have been filled with reconnecting with familiar faces, building new relationships and re-establishing positive learning routines. It has been lovely to see students returning with such enthusiasm and a strong commitment to doing their best each day. Our staff have also been working closely with students to build strong connections and ensure our classrooms and shared spaces are safe, supportive and inclusive environments for all.

I would also like to thank the families, students and staff who took the time to attend our SSG Day on Thursday 29th January. The day provided a valuable opportunity for open conversations, shared goal setting and strengthening the partnership between home and school. These discussions play an important role in supporting our students and have contributed to a positive and confident start to the year.

School Communication and the Use of Compass

Concord School has communicated with the school community for several years through the Compass online portal which can be accessed via either a web browser or phone app. Daily communication between the school and parent/carer will occur through email within Compass.

Compass email is simple to use. When you open your portal, click on ‘Send email to (my child’s name) teachers’. Other staff are then listed and can also be added.

Compass is used to:

  • communicate information between the teacher/school (academic and extra-curricular) and parent/carers
  • give permission and make payments for incursions, excursions and camps
  • indicate and explain absences
  • receive school newsletters
  • book SSGs
  • access student reports
  • order school photos

It is important that you use Compass and check your emails regularly. If you have any questions regarding Compass including assistance with logging on, please contact Karen Jordan on Karen.Jordan@education.vic.gov.au or 94673972.

You may also like to add in your child’s Section Leader if your child’s class teacher is absent. Our Section Leaders in 2026 are:

  • Lower Primary – Kath Moore
  • Upper Primary –Kirsten Telford
  • Secondary 7/8 – Rachel Morgan

Principal’s Award - Abhik

Abhik has settled back into the school year well. He has quickly learnt the routines and expectations of his new class and has shown responsibility by looking after his belongings.

Abhik has been a good role model for younger students in the class and has demonstrated the Concord Expectations of being safe, being respectful, being responsible and being a learner. He has been trying new things and having a go.

Well done Abhik on a great start to the 2026 school year.
