What a fantastic day at our School Swimming Carnival. Despite the soaring temperatures, our students brought even more heat to the pool with their energy, enthusiasm and outstanding house spirit. From the opening whistle to the final relay, the carnival was packed with close races, loud cheering and plenty of colour as students proudly represented their houses.
It was terrific to see such strong participation across all year levels. Whether students were chasing points in championship events, stepping outside their comfort zone to enter a race, or supporting their teammates from the sidelines, the level of encouragement and sportsmanship on display was something to be proud of. Days like this highlight the strength of our school community and the positive culture our students continue to build.
A highlight of the afternoon was the novelty relay organised by our Year 12 leaders. It was great to see so many students getting involved, having a laugh and cheering each other on. Our Year 12 leaders did a fantastic job throughout the day, helping to organise students, promote participation and keep the energy high.
Congratulations to Green House, who claimed the overall victory with an impressive 293 points. Red House finished a close second on 256 points, followed by Yellow House on 181 and Blue House on 164. The competition was fierce, and every point earned throughout the day made a difference.
A special acknowledgement to our Age Group Champions for their outstanding performances:
12 to 13 Boys – Hugo Ellis (Yellow)
12 to 13 Girls – Mia Rundle (Blue)
14 Boys – Riley Kohl (Green)
14 Girls – Summah Fursland (Red)
15 Boys – Ruben Currie (Green)
15 Girls – Rahni Allan (Blue)
16 Boys – Finn Hynes-Carnegie (Green)
16 Girls – No competitors
17 Boys – Seb Carnavale (Red)
17 Girls – Jessica Kennedy (Blue)
20 Boys – Charlie McCredden (Green)
20 Girls – Lexie Whatley (Red)
These students demonstrated exceptional commitment and consistency across their events and should be very proud of their achievements. Thank you to our staff and student helpers who ensured the day ran smoothly, from timekeeping and marshalling to supervision and coordination. Your behind-the-scenes support makes events like this successful. Most importantly, well done to every student who jumped in, gave it a go, and represented their house with pride, especially in the challenging heat. It was a great day of competition, connection and school spirit.
