Spotlight on Learning Lizard 

This week, Lizard Pod has been captivated by the story Giraffes Can’t Dance, following Gerald the giraffe as he discovers the perfect music to dance to. The children loved exploring Gerald’s journey of finding his own rhythm and embracing his uniqueness.

They have been exploring the English textual concept of character by closely reading Giraffes Can’t Dance to understand Gerald’s traits, feelings, and development throughout the story.

Inspired by the story, the students created their own beautiful Gerald the Giraffe artworks, showcasing their creativity and imagination.

In writing, the class has been focusing on character descriptions of Gerald, using noun groups and adjectives, as well as pronouns and compound sentences. 

It’s been a wonderful week of reading, writing, and creative expression in Lizard Pod!
