Apply for Year 7 placement in a NSW Government high school in 2027 from 2 March 2026

In NSW Government schools, applying to move from primary school to high school is a 2-step process:

Step 1

The first step is to complete a Moving to high school expression of interest from 2 March 2026. When completing this form, you will be able to indicate which school(s) you would like your child to attend in Year 7.

Step 2

The second step is to submit an enrolment application, which will be issued to you by the high school after they have assessed your expression of interest.

Watch a short video overview of the process for moving into Year 7

Expressions of interest for 2027 will open on 02 March 2026.

This expression of interest process does not support placement in specialist schools, selective schools and/or support classes

NAPLAN 2026: Important Information for Parents

All students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 across Australia participate in NAPLAN tests each March. These tests assess students’ skills in reading, writing, and maths. The test questions are presented in Standard Australian English, with some questions requiring students to read and others requiring them to listen using headphones.

The NAPLAN 2026 testing window will be from Wednesday 11 March (Week 7) to Monday 23 March (Week 9). The tests adapt to each student’s performance, becoming easier or harder depending on how they are going.

It is important that every student brings their own headphones with a standard 3.5 mm jack for use during the online tests. Please ensure your child brings their headphones to school by the end of next week.

The NAPLAN timetable will be emailed to all Year 3 and Year 5 parents next week.

If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Lion Dance

On 22 February, some of our school’s amazing lion dancers performed at the Mandarin Centre for our community. Their colourful costumes and energetic performance created a festive atmosphere and delighted the audience.

We are very proud of the confidence, teamwork and dedication our students demonstrated while representing our school with pride.

If your child is interested in joining the Lion Dance program, please check the sign-up details in the flyer located in the Community Flyer section of this newsletter.

Special Religious Education and Special Education in Ethics

Special Religious Education (SRE) teaches students about the beliefs and practices of approved religions. It is offered in government schools to students who choose to attend and is taught by authorised representatives of those religious groups.

For students who do not attend SRE, schools also offer Special Education in Ethics (SEE). SEE is a program that helps students learn about making ethical decisions and thinking about right and wrong, without promoting any religion. The approved provider of SEE is Primary Ethics, and the program is available for students from Kindergarten to Year 8.

A special thanks to all of our SRE and SEE volunteers for their dedication. Please note that we are currently looking for more volunteers to support the SEE program.
