Before School Sports - Term 4

Dear Families,
We have been incredibly proud of our Term 3 Before-School Sports Program, with more than 150 students participating in at least one activity. The feedback from students and families has been overwhelmingly positive across all of the activities offered this term.
We are very excited to continue these programs in Term 4, while also looking to expand the range of opportunities available to our students.
Current Programs – Term 4 Registrations Open
Families can now secure a Term 4 place in our existing programs:
- Tennis – Adrian Barry Tennis: Newlands Before-School Tennis – Term 4 Registration
- Wrestling – Pound Force MMA: Newlands Before-School Wrestling – Term 4 Registration
- Basketball – Players First: Players First Basketball
- Zumba – Diego Cruz Productions: Newlands Before-School Zumba – Term 4 Registration
We encourage families who would like to continue with these programs to register early to secure their place.
New Activities for Term 4
We have listened to student feedback and have been working with a number of local sporting and community organisations to bring an even wider range of before-school activities to Newlands.
We are hoping to introduce:
- Girls’ AFL Football – Darebin Falcons: $100 per term | Minimum 15 students
- Girls’ Soccer – Darebin Falcons: $100 per term | Minimum 15 students
- Drama/Acting – DARE Drama: $215 per term | Minimum 10 students per group | Foundation–2, 3/4 and 5/6 groups
- Muay Thai – Pound Force MMA: $100 per term | Minimum 20 students | Foundation–2 and 3–6 groups
- Lacrosse – Brunswick Lacrosse: Cost $100 per term | Minimum 20 students
- Fencing – Historical Fencing: $120 per term | Minimum 20 students
Pottery – School-Based Initiative: $120 per term | Minimum 20 students
While we are excited about bringing these opportunities to Newlands, each new program will need to reach its minimum number of registrations before it can be confirmed.
To help students decide what they might like to try in Term 4, we have organised a number of demonstrations, clinics and opportunities over the next two weeks.
If you and your child are interested in signing up for any of the new activities, please complete the following expression of interest form: Term 4 Before-School Activities – New Activities Expression of Interest – Fill out form
