Character in Sport
As we reflect on another outstanding Winter sport season in the Junior School, there is much to celebrate. Our boys have enjoyed a successful winter sports season, highlighted by the Year 4 Soccer and Hockey Carnivals and yesterday’s Ian MacRae Cup fixture against Aquinas, which ended in a thrilling draw. Additionally, we also witnessed individual success at the JPSSA Cross Country carnival where Year 6 student, Daniel Adams, was the overall winner in the Year 6 race on the day. A fantastic individual performance.
While these events provide wonderful opportunities for competition and achievement, they also remind us of the deeper lessons that sport teaches. Success is certainly worth celebrating, but equal importance lies in how we conduct ourselves when things do not go our way. Sport provides a powerful platform to develop empathy, resilience, and respect for others. We encourage our boys to win with humility, lose with grace, and always acknowledge the efforts of teammates, opponents and officials.
Throughout the season, our boys have demonstrated admirable sportsmanship and brotherhood, supporting one another through both success and disappointment. These moments of encouragement, kindness, and respect are often the most meaningful outcomes of school sport. Our weekly commitment to JPSSA sporting fixtures plays a vital role in the Character and Formation program within the Junior School.
As parents and educators, we all play an important role in nurturing these qualities. By modelling positive behaviour, recognising acts of good sportsmanship, and reinforcing the values of participation and inclusion, we help our boys understand that character matters more than the scoreboard. It is through these experiences that they learn to compete with determination, show empathy for others, and represent themselves and the College with pride.
Our attention now turns, with excitement and energy, to the upcoming Junior School Athletics Carnival. For many of our boys, this is a highlight of the year. We look forward to providing another opportunity where boys can demonstrate their resilience, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
On behalf of the boys, I would like to thank all the Junior School teachers and coaches for their assistance throughout Terms Two and Three. A special thank you to our Junior School Sport Coordinator, Mr Luke Thompson, for his effort and organisation to ensure the winter season was a success for all boys.
God Bless,
Mr James McPherson

Angelico Art Exhibition
The Angelico Art Exhibition, as part of the Catholic Arts Festival, is an impressive display of outstanding artworks from Catholic primary and secondary schools from all across the state of Western Australia. The exhibition is available for viewing during office hours at the Forrest Centre, 221 St George's Terrace, Perth until Friday 28th August. An additional viewing has been organised for Saturday 22nd August from 1.00 -3.00pm.
At the completion of the exhibition a 3D Virtual Tour of the display will be available on the Catholic Arts Office website. A very big congratulations to the following Junior School students who have been selected to represent Trinity College with their beautiful artworks!
Morning Drop-Off
Mornings can be a whirlwind. Between finding missing shoes, locating that all-important lunch box, and making it to school before the bell, it's easy to feel like you're competing in an Olympic event! Afternoons can be just as busy, with everyone eager to get home after a long day. With this in mind, we'd like to remind all families that student safety remains our highest priority during these peak drop-off and pick-up times.
To help keep our community safe and traffic flowing smoothly, we ask all families to observe the following:
Please adhere to the College speed limit of 10 km/h. It may feel slower than your morning coffee kicks in, but it helps keep everyone safe.
Drive carefully through the Main Driveway and the roundabout near the white canopy/umbrella.
Do not drop boys off between the roundabout and the Pavilion. This is dangerous and disrupts the flow of traffic.
Do not use staff parking bays for drop-off or pick-up.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and shared commitment to keeping our students safe. By working together and following the signage and road rules, we can ensure that everyone arrives and departs safely, with far less stress and considerably fewer "Where are my keys?" Moments.
Please also note that there is no teacher supervision after school at the white canopy/umbrella area. All Junior School students should wait in the designated Junior School area until they are collected.
Head of Junior School Forum
A final reminder that all parents are invited to attend the HOJS forum. This term’s discussion will be held on Friday 14 August (Week 4). This will be an opportunity to discuss current initiatives in the Junior School. Additionally, it will also provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions about anything they have regarding the programs within the Junior School. This will be held at 2.30pm in the Junior School Science room.
Homework Club Afternoon Tea and Cafe Reminder
A reminder to parents that our Café now offers the option to pre-order Afternoon Tea through the Flexischools app. Afternoon Tea includes a muffin and a juice for $8.00 and will be delivered to the Junior School on the afternoon you select. Simply place your order via the Flexischools app before the relevant cut-off time to have Afternoon Tea delivered to your child.
