Year 3 Assembly

The grade 3 assembly was about our school excursion to ACMI and the StopMotion Animation lesson. We showed how it works and we showed our creativity init. Each scene in an animation movie is 24 photos. We also learned and showed what frame by frame is. You take a photo, movethe Lego bricks a bit, then thake a phot, then move the brick again. It’s amazing andit teaches you how to make movies. Also you need to move your character a tiny bitso it looks fluent. Big moves make your character jump or teleport. It’s fun. Youshould try it. It’s called Stop Motion Studio App.It’s not always easy but once you get the hang of it, it’s fun. Just try your besteven if it’s frustrating sometimes. Don’t get angry. It’s hard and easy at the sametime. Here’s some advice. Explore everything. Use your imagination. Our song was Eastern Rosellas. Because it demonstrated the imagination ofan eight year old boy – italics are mine, Ferial. The main thing in our assembly was stop motion. We worked together.

On monday the 17 of august, Grade 3BP,3JC and obviously 3TR performed their second assembly. It was about our excursion going to ACMI, we did it in the PAB like where every class would perform their assembly. We did it about ACMI so everyone will know what ACMI was like, in my opinion it was the best excursion yet. The grade 6’s weren't there so some of the Grade threes had been the leaders of the assembly; it was Shavin, Jacob and Sithumi. My line was very important; it was telling what the main method was. Our great parents had come and taken videos of us. They really liked it. They really liked our song called Eastern Roserless, it was made by a 7 year old boy. Then they went to get a cup of tea. After 20 minutes they came to our class, we did animations with them. I did some TNT exploding. My mum gave me an idea of rainy clouds, it worked out really well. Then we played a game of Mr Ruyg Says. My mum was good at Mr Ruyg Says, and we both survived at the end, then we all said ‘’Bye’’!!! And we all got on with our work. It was fun while it lasted.

On Monday 17th of August, all the Year 3 students did an assembly in the Performing Arts Building (PAB) because every year level has to do 2 assemblies each year. At 9:00, Year 3 got set up but the School Captains weren't here, so Year 3 had to do the stuff that the School Captains do at assemblies. First, we started off with the school prayer, the National Anthem of Australia and the speaking rolls. At the end of the speaking rolls, we sang a song called Eastern Rosellas. Then when we finished, the parents had a cup of tea with the Principal and then they came to the year 3 classrooms so we could do animation with us. After all that, the parents left. I had lots of fun. I want to do an assembly again soon!

On Monday 17th at 9:00am, all the Year three students were at the P.A.B.(Performing Arts Building). Our assembly was about our trip to ACMI! Our assembly song was called Eastern Rosellas. After the assembly our parents had tea with Mrs Marshall and Mrs Davies (Our principal and deputy principal). Then the parents came to the Year three classrooms and did an animation with their child. When I spoke my role, I was very confident, and I sang very loudly and confidently too. I loved singing Eastern Rosellas because it's a very bright song sung by a 7 year old boy. The assembly was brilliant!!!

On Monday 17th August, my class was doing our assembly because we wanted to share our learning. I was so nervous because there were so many people and I had a really long paragraph to read. We did our assembly in the performing arts building and when I saw my mum, I waved to her and read my script to myself again.

My favourite part was reading my long paragraph. Even though this was the most nerve racking part, it was still the best experience I could have ever asked for. I also liked that I was next to the heater, so I was really warm.

I learned that animation was made by a camera and someone willing to try. I felt really happy because I got the opportunity to read three times this year including stations of the cross. I was extremely nervous at the start but then I got confident and became super excited! I had an amazing assembly and I am already looking forward to the next one!
