Student Representative Council (SRC)
We are so happy to tell you about our new junior SRC members! This term, Prep, 1 and 2 students were able to join the SRC team in making our school a better place. In SRC, you can give ideas to our team and try to make them work! If they wanted to be in the SRC, they had to say a speech in front of their class and be very brave. They have to always try their best and follow the school rules and values. We let them know that if they become an SRC member, they miss out on half of their playtime ONCE A WEEK! Only one person from every class can be a SRC member. Also, you have to be kind and fair, and they only voted for who they thought would be the most responsible and best SRC, not just their friends. We had a lot of interested students who wanted to be an SRC! 30 students in Prep, 25 in Year 1 and 25 in Year 2! Well done to everyone who tried their hardest!
By the Year 4 and 5 SRC members.
The new SRC members are:
Jevon (0MB), Jia (0MB), Sienna (0LE), Kaleb (1MB), Alyssa (1SB), Liliana (2BP), Arianna (2SJ) and Aayush (2CJ)
Bullying No Way Week
This week was Bullying No Way Week. Bullying is when someone uses their power to be mean on purpose, over and over, to hurt someone. Bullying can happen with mean words or messages, even online, where it can be repetitive. This year’s theme for Bullying No Way Week, “Small Acts, Big Impact” shows us that even little things we do can make someone’s day better. Small actions, like inviting someone to play, standing up for someone, or being kind, can make a big difference and help stop bullying. If you see someone being bullied, find a teacher. Remember, before you say or send something, think about how it might make someone feel. When everyone helps, even in small ways, our school becomes a kinder, safer, and happier place. To celebrate Bullying No Way week, classes watched an online lesson by Kids Helpline. Every class also did an activity about bullying. Some work from the Year 2s is below.

Year 6 Wellbeing Leaders
In Year 2, we watched an online zoom that Kid's Helpline led for us about Bullying No Way! Week that was an anti-bullying lesson. It had lots of different schools in it and lots of people were saying hi in the chat so we did too! We learnt that bullying is not right to do to other people, and we have to stop bullying together so the world can be a better place for everyone. After we watched the zoom, we spoke about how important it is to show kindness and empathy to everyone we meet and brainstormed ways to do that. We came up with lots of ideas so we made a kindness goal that we are going to keep on our desks to remind us every day to be kind to each other and to stop bullying. Some of our goals include standing up for people, to encourage and help people when things are challenging, and to always include others in our games.
