NSWPSSA Primary State Athletics Championships
On Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24th October, Aviya represented the school and Western Region at the NSWPSSA Primary State Athletics Championships at Homebush. Competing in the junior girls multiclass section, Aviya came 24th in the 100m and 12th in the 200m events. Congratulations Aviya on an outstanding achievement and the entire school looks forward to seeing your progression in athletics in future years.
Pickleball is here
One of the fastest growing sports has found its way to Anson Street School with our secondary students participating in Pickleball for Wednesday sport. The students have increased their skill over the weeks which led to a high intense match between 2 teams of 4 which saw the competitiveness nature come out of everyone involved. Plans have commenced to visit the new Pickleball courts at Orange City Bowling Club to really test the skills.
Primary Sport - Rugby League
After receiving positive feedback from secondary staff and students, we invited back Emma and her crew from the NRL to run rugby league activity and games for our primary students for Wednesday sport. Using Sporting Schools funding to cover the costs, the coaches have put the primary students through their paces to develop their passing, catching, running and dodging skills.
