Dear Kalinda Families and Staff,

Last Friday Kalinda celebrated a FUN-tastic Colour Splatacular Fun Run event on the oval. Thank you to all the parents who assisted at the event for setup, colour splashing, tarp fun, face-wiping and pack up. Many hands make light work, and events like this cannot happen without your involvement and help. It was fantastic to see the spirit and enthusiasm that was displayed in supporting our school.

Seeing the smiles on people’s faces at the event was truly amazing! The students and teachers were all smiles as they enjoyed their fun run around the oval, and danced away on the sidelines to music chosen by our grade 5/6 students. Thank you to Sarah Butler for coordinating the music selection.

Our thanks also to the 7 wonderful teachers who volunteered to be colour splashed in powder or slime at the end of the event (Lauren Hopkins, Kylie Drummond, Paul Todd, Karina Gallace, Guilia Bulled, Lachie Anderson, and Grace Smith). We will never forget the sound of 455 students yelling in chorus together “Tip the Bucket!” and the roar of applause and laughter that followed it.

Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising component of this activity for Kalinda. Together we have raised $14,027 at the last count, which is an amazing effort!  

The prizes for students who participated in online fundraising have been ordered and are on their way. Once we receive the prizes at the school we will sort and distribute them in a timely manner. 

If any family members would like to help with this process, please contact the team at kalindapandf@gmail.com and we will let you know when the prizes have arrived and a working bee date is set.

Again, our most sincere thanks for your support and fundraising efforts. This year’s Colour Splatacular Fun Run was a huge success, and we could not have done it without you!!!
