YEAR 8
Year 8 Key Information
- House Competition 2025 has started with a bang for our Year 8 students. This term, we focus on two key areas - rewarding positive behaviour and fostering healthy competition. Students can earn house points for their Pastoral Group by wearing the correct uniform on designated days, using their school diaries correctly, and maintaining clear, organized locker spaces. Additionally, our knockout games competition provides another avenue for earning points. Last week saw exciting progress as Cahill (8.2) and Murray (8.8) advanced to the next round. These games encourage student collaboration, communication, and team spirit. We look forward to crowning our winning team at the competition's conclusion.

Whole of College Key Information
- We are still in the Cane Train season, and we frequently cross the railway line that runs beside the College fence. Students must adhere to the signs of a cane train approaching, with lights and sounds triggered at the crossing as the train approaches. In this instance, students must stay well away from the railway line. We appreciate families reminding your children of this safety notice.
- We are fundraising this term in support St Vincent de Paul’s Christmas Food Hampers, which will be donated during our Christmas Liturgy on the last day of Term 4. The pastoral group that fills the the most washing baskets (Hampers) for the Christmas Appeal will be rewarded with a class party! We appreciate families contributing to our fundraising initiative to support those in need at Christmas.
Please Remember:- Donations must have an expiry date of at least January 2025.
- Toys and gifts are not required as other organisations handle these contributions.
- Attendance is a critical component of continued learning and human development in schools. The table below highlights how missing school days can add up ultimately impacting the continuity of education, leading to disengagement. If your child/ren is having difficulty with attendance please reach out to our pastoral team for support. Attendance matters! Every child, on time, every day!
Week 5 Uniform Schedule & Reminders
CRAZY SOCK DAY
Next Tuesday, we’ll host Crazy Sock Day to raise funds for Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. A gold coin donation is required and will be collected during Pastoral Group. All students are encouraged to participate by wearing their most creative, crazy socks. Each Pastoral Group will nominate or vote for one student who stands out with the best crazy socks. These nominated students will then compete against other nominees from their House at the House assembly. The winning student from each House will be awarded a $10 tuckshop voucher for their effort and creativity.
