Catholic Identity

Mission Day

Last week we enjoyed a great day of activities and learning focused on our call to Mission, the work of Catholic Missions in Mongolia, and Social Justice issues in our world.

The students participated in a soccer shoot-out using balls made out of donated used socks, and considered the many ways they can act to build a better world for all.

We raised a total of $575 for the Don Bosco Caring Centre in Mongolia and the work of Catholic Missions.

Thank you for your support of this event.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

We pray for all the students in our school community who next week will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.

Reconciliation (also known as the Sacrament of Penance or Confession) is a beautiful Sacrament of healing and relationship. Through this Sacrament, we draw closer to the love of God and celebrate his unending mercy in a very special way.

We pray that this is a time of faith and growth for our students.

Coming up

Advent Prayer Services

Beginning the week of the 29th of November the students will participate in classroom-based Advent prayer services. During these prayer services, the students will light their Advent wreaths, hear Advent scripture passages, and reflect on how they can welcome Jesus into their hearts and lives during the Advent Season.

Grades 3-6 Reconciliation

On Friday the 6th of December all grade 3-6 students will attend an Advent Reconciliation Liturgy where those who have participated in the Sacrament of Reconciliation before will be given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament again by 'going to confession.' Those students who have not completed their Sacraments will also attend and be invited to come forward and have a 'chat' or pray with the priests if they wish.

St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal

We will have a fundraiser for the Vinnies Christmas Appeal on December 13th. More details to come.

Graduation

The Grade Six Graduation Liturgy will take place on Monday 16th of December at 6 pm in St Therese's Church.

End of Year Mass

We will give thanks to God for the year we have had together at the End of Year Mass on the 18th of December at 9:15 am. This Mass will include the traditional farewell blessing between the Grade 6 students and their Foundation buddies.
